THE SET OF THE SOUL 
One ship drives east and another drives west 
With the self-same wind that blows. 
'Tis the set of the sail and not the gale 
That tells us which way it goes. 

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate, 
As we journey along through life; 
'Tis the set of the soul that determines the goal 
And neither the calm nor the strife.
