Are Online "Christian Discussion Groups" Edifying Or Condemning?

There seems to be a trend going on in these "Christian" groups these days. So often, we can take one word out of a hundred in another's post, and run away with our own tangent thinking he or she said this or that when it is not even close to what is being said. It seems that those who justify this with being "analytical" or as just "reasoning" totally miss what the Lord is sharing through that person. Could Paul be speaking of this when he said,"you have not yet learned Christ?" One can doubt their salvation sometimes. My theory is that we have been trained that the mark of a good Christian is to have all of our doctrine perfect (not a bad thing in and of itself) and argue about the fine points to prove we are correct. That ends up making us cranky and is a bad testimony to the world around us. I think more of what Paul told Titus in Titus 3:9 "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.

Some of us have struggled at times with an addiction of "being right," and I think its rooted in arrogance and pride, as if we have something to prove or we're defending God (or our position about him) in some way.

The Lord has been teaching me different, and there are those times I'm tempted to "argue" so called "Truth" or interpretation thereof of what I believe. Flesh manifesting has its way of self-deception and blinding itself to what the Lord is saying/doing. But yet..."There is more hope for fools than for people who think they are wise." (Prov 26:12).
